This includes all Hilburgers and it quickly evolved to include many other Roggenstein families. Note that the families are sorted in alphabetical order.
Ancestors in Roggenstein Parish Records
My 4th great-grandfather Tobias HILBURGER was born in 1819 in Kaimling. He was a son of Johann Joseph HILBURGER and Anna Maria WALDHIER.
His father was from Schirmitz, while his mother was a native of Kaimling. She was born in 1777 in Kaimling, a daughter of Caspar WALDHIER and Maria Margaretha BOJER.
Maria WALDHIER married Erhard STADLER in 1802. After he passed away in 1814, she remarried Joseph HILBURGER.
Tobias lost both parents before immigrating to the United States in 1853 – his father passed away in 1844, and he is called a widower. His mother died earlier in 1827.
The WALDHIER family has roots in Kaimling dating back to the 1690s. Adam WALDHIER of Waldau, son of a Conrad WALDHIER, married Dorothea KICK of Kaimling, daughter of a Michael KICK, in 1694 in Roggenstein. It appears that all of the Kaimling WALDHIERs trace back to this couple.
My branch descends of their eldest son, Martin WALDHIER, born in 1697 in Kaimling, through his 2nd wife, Cunigunda WURZER. They married in 1740 and their 3rd child was Caspar WALDHIER, born in 1745 in Kaimling. He married Margaretha BOJER of Zessmannsrieth in 1767 in Roggenstein.
